Dr. Rizzo is a graduate of Lower Merion High School, Bucknell University and Temple University School of Dentisry. After graduation Dr. Rizzo spent five years working in dental offices in and around the Philadelphia area before buying his own office. He spent 5 years on the faculty of Temple's Dental School teaching students all aspects of clinical dentistry. Dr. Rizzo has continued his education over the years with concentrations in the field of endodontics, implantology, oral surgery and prosthodontics.
A life long lover of learning, Dr. Rizzo enjoys reading, traveling and spending time with friends, family and his dog.
Alissa is our team’s hygienist. She is a graduate of both Temple University and Community College of Philadelphia for Dental Hygiene. After receiving her bachelor’s degree in Biology, her love of science led her to pursue her career in healthcare. As a member of the Sigma Phi Alpha Honor Society and the completion of CCP’s dental programs, she received a dual license as a Public Health Dental Hygienist with a special permit to administer local anesthesia.
Alissa loves educating her patients in both preventative and restorative dentistry. Her knowledge of all aspects of oral health help provide the outstanding, personalized care she gives to each one of them.
Although Alissa grew up in Roxborough, she currently resides with her husband and son in Delaware County. Outside of the office, Alissa enjoys spending time with her family and friends, adventures with her son and watching Hallmark and HGTV.
It's hard to describe yourself, but I can tell you that I am easy going, friendly, and genuinely like people. I have worked in the dental field for over 30 years. The many hats that I have worn have taught me the many intricacies of running a dental practice effectively as well as the beauty in seeing a patient smile for the first time. I have my degree in Computer Science which jump started my career in business but found no joy in the task. I was lucky to have met Dr. Checchio where I worked and was able to find my chosen path. I'm in love with my three kids that are learning to fly and spread their wings. I taught them to respect themselves and others; the importance of accountability for oneself and to work hard. I am a true animal lover, and my best friend is my pup Lucky. Lucky chose me when he was a wee baby after being discarded in a dumpster and how fortunate am I that we have been together for 15 years. He keeps me company when I am in my studio either refurbishing a piece of furniture or while working out back in the snow, rain, or heat painting something to restore it to its natural beauty. I am thrilled to be a part of the dental team working with both Dr. Rizzo and Alissa.
Henry was born in the spring of 2018 into a litter of miniature dachshunds. After relocating to Philadelphia, Henry has developed a love for sniffing, snuggling and delicious treats.
Henry is currently working on his Masters in Waiting Room Greeting. He is looking forward to sniffing all patients and mail carriers.
